Security guards deploy enforcement of corona measures
The retail industry will deploy private security guards and supervisors who must enforce the corona measures in shops and shopping areas.
These measures will become stricter when the corona law comes into force one day. It will then be mandatory, among other things, to wear a face mask in shops.
The security guards must help retailers take stricter action against customers who refuse to comply with the measures. If a customer still refuses to wear a face mask at the request of a security guard and does not want to leave the store, enforcement or the police can be called upon. Agreements have been made about this with the Security Council and the Ministries of Justice & Security and Economic Affairs. The cabinet wants stricter action to be taken against people who do not comply with the corona measures and expects retailers to also take their responsibility in this regard. Because they do not have their own boas, it has been agreed to use private security guards.
