Preparing for the 'new normal'

Reading time: 2 minutes

Yesterday during the press conference it became clear that the distance rule of 1,5 meters will not disappear in the coming months. The minister has called on companies to think about what the 'new normal' will look like for companies when measures are phased out. In the upcoming period it is important to determine new internal security measures. Is your organization prepared for the “one and a half meter economy”?

One and a half meter economy

When measures can be relaxed, companies that want to open their doors again are forced to think about how they can guarantee the 1,5 meter distance for visitors, employees, travelers, etc. Matters such as the permitted capacity, managing and responding to risks come forward. As the minister has indicated, not all measures will be lifted at once. We will work within the measures set by the government. It has also been indicated that the measures can change from one moment to the next. This means that it is not certain which measures are permanent and which will be lifted. This means that a safety plan must be scalable.

Analysis and advice

In a normal situation, the maximum number of people present in a room is already being considered. Now this math gets more complicated because a new factor is added based on the requirements of Social Distancing. This makes it even more important to monitor and control the inflow and outflow of visitors, employees or travelers.

We advise and support you in drawing up and implementing a safety plan. We understand that the measures taken cause questions you have about (re)opening your organization and we are happy to help you draw up a solid plan with our experience.
