The main task of the
fire watch is to prevent possible fires. For example, a fire watch is often deployed for vacant buildings with a fire hazard, companies in the petrochemical sector where complex installations are used or on industrial sites with a high risk of explosion.
It may also be mandatory to deploy a fire watch: if the extinguishing, sprinkler or fire alarm system is broken or is being maintained, the insurer or the municipality obliges a company to deploy a fire watch. A fire watch is also mandatory for companies that work with fire and heat during burning, welding or melting. Furthermore, a fire watch is mandatory during renovations for fire safety and during
